Jenna Homburg, a retired Army E-5, Motor Sergeant
Jenna Homburg was in the Army for 8 years (January 2003 to January 2011). She started in the Army Reserves for 2.5 years; then, she transferred to Active Duty for the last 5.5 years. She volunteered to deploy in 2008 and was deployed from October 2008 to October 2009.
Homburg was an E-5 (Sergeant), but her title was Motor Sergeant as she was in charge of the Motor Pool and all Motor Pool operations (vehicle maintenance, both scheduled and unscheduled, equipment maintenance, drivers training and drivers safety programs, and the team of mechanics of which she was in charge).
Homburg was honorably discharged in 2011 and shortly after began working for the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs where she held several titles over the years but primarily worked as an analyst. She left government work at the end of January 2016 in order to pursue a career in the nonprofit sector.
Homburg has earned a Bachelor's in Business Management, a Master's in Business Administration, certifications in Lean Six Sigma (Yellow and Green Belt certified) and is currently in the Professional Writing and Communication Graduate Program through UW Milwaukee, where she is studying grant writing while volunteering as a grant writer for the Heartland Farm Sanctuary near Madison, WI. Homburg also volunteers with Shar Pei Savers rescue and has three rescue dogs of her own. :)
